He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Jane Blanchard Cenac, his son, Seth Cenac and wife Yuko, brother-in-law Cleveland Marcel, Jr., sister-in-laws Janie Blanchard Marcel (Cleveland) and Shirley Guidry Cenac (Thomas Sr. deceased), nieces Laurie Marcel (finance Greg Acosta) and Tara Cenac Rogers (David), nephews Timothy Marcel (Sarah), Joshua Marcel (Cindy), and Joey Marcel (Nikki), Thomas Cenac, Jr. and Troy Cenac and a host of grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Alphonse J. Cenac, Sr., his mother, Leona Eschete Cenac, and his brother, Thomas Cenac. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Nicholls University, and a Masters of Education from Louisiana State University. He also served in the US Air Force Reserve Corps. A.J. dedicated his life to public education. He began his career as a teacher of science at Houma Junior High School and South Terrebonne High School. He later taught Civics at Oaklawn Junior High School for many years, and served as an Assistant Principal at Caldwell Elementary. He ended his career as Principal of Montegut Elementary School. He was a good husband to Bonnie for 48 years and loving father of Seth. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and spent many vacations in Destin, Florida, his favorite place in the world. The family wishes to thank Dr. Russell Henry, Drs. Fritz and Eric Rau, Dr. Harry McGaw, Dr. Wm. Kinnard, Dr. Robert Alexander, Dr. Donald Schwab, the staff of Terrebonne General Medical Center, and the staff of Bayou Surgical Center. A memorial service will be held Monday, January 4, 2016 at 11am at St. Francis Cemetery No. 2. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, friends and colleagues of Mr. Cenac make a donation in his name to Wounded Warrior Project, Wounded Warrior Project - Veterans Charity Organization ...
