She was a native of Chauvin, LA and resident of Houma. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Maria Immacolata at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. She is survived by her children Kerry P. and wife Elaine Pontiff, James M. Pontiff and Paula A. Pontiff, grandchildren, Dawn Michelle Dugas Henry, Sara Beth Dugas Guidry, Angela Marie Dugas, Leah Marie Pontiff and Julie Ann Pontiff, five great-grandchildren, Trent Michael Henry, Drake Matthew Henry, Leighton Matthew Guidry, Fynlie Chey Guidry and Beckett Paul Guidry and brother Dallas Duplantis. She was preceded in death by her parents Calvin and Clothilde LeBlanc Duplantis, husband, Paul Gustave Pontiff, brothers, Perry Duplantis, Floyd J. Duplantis, sisters, Leona Duplantis English, Lura Duplantis Malbrough Gardner and Annalee Duplantis Hebert. Maria was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She left a great legacy of the “Cajun” culinary arts to all of her children and grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling with her “lifelong love” husband, Paul. She was an avid bowler and bowled in tournaments all over the United States. She will live forever in our hearts and will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. She was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. ======================
