He was a native of Alexandria, LA and resident of Gray, LA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 9:00am to service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. with services to begin at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Burial will follow after funeral services in Bayou Black Cemetery. He is survived by his Daughter Charmaine Blanchard Anderson, Grandson Samuel Anderson, Cousin Sharon Boudreaux, Nephews: Craig Blanchard and wife Carolyn, Kevin Blanchard, all of Houston TX, and his Best Friend Larry Kokemoor of Houston TX. He was preceded in death by his, Parents Clifford Louis Blanchard Sr. and Sarah Zelina Burnett Schexnider, and Brother Clifford Louis "C.L" Blanchard Jr. He was dedicated to his career at Foley's in Houston Texas for over 40 years. He was a member of the Masonic Order at Lodge 1172 in Houston Texas for over 50 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found in his flower garden and in his yard working on various projects. Samuel was the caretaker of the family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. If one word could be used to describe Samuel Blanchard that word would simply be, "Honorable". US Army ======================
