Greeted by his Lord, his mother Solidelle Babin Haydel, his father Thomas James Haydel, Jr., brother Michael James Haydel, and many close friends and relatives who pre-ceded him in death. Robert battled cancer for many months. His will to beat this cancer and live a normal life was so very strong. Robert left behind his two loving sisters, Julie Skains and Wynona Squires; his three nieces, Vanessa Farrow, Amy Griffith, and Lisette Landry; and several great nieces and nephews. Robert was born on December 6, 1960 in Thibodaux, Louisiana, and graduated from H. L. Bourgeois High School. His family of Terrier puppies, Ace, Eight Ball, Coon, and Junior, gave him great joy. He is now reunited with them again. He was a creative carpenter, and his woodworking creations gave him much pride. He also enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing, and boating. His new guitar was a sense of comfort, and he often sang to Wynona’s dog, Jazz. The family would like to thank his doctors of OLOL: Dr. Lauren Zatarain, Dr. Glenn Landry, Dr. Mary Raven, Palliative Care, and their staff. St. Joseph’s Hospice and Southern Hospice played an important role in his final days. Dr. Brady Guillory from St. Joseph’s Hospice even made a house call to visit Rob, which meant a lot to him. Wynona Squires would like to thank her daughter, Vanessa Farrow, for the time she spent with Rob sharing stories and helping to make him more comfortable. His visitation will be on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 8:00am-11:00am at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 100 Highway 311, Schriever, LA 70395. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00am and will be followed by Burial at St. Bridget Cemetery. Reception in Church Hall to. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 10528 Kent-shire Ct, Baton Rouge, LA 70810. Robert will be missed so much by Wynona and Jazz. We love you! ======================
