Thomas Francis Mestayer, 91, a native of Loreauville and a resident of Mathews, 
passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016. 

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30 at St. Hilary Catholic 
Church, Mathews, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. 
Saturday, 

with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Raceland, LA. 

He is survived by his wife, Del Monte Mary Arabie Mestayer; daughters, Patricia 
Mestayer McNeil, Mary Mestayer and Margaret Mestayer Foster; six grandchildren; 
and 10 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Bernard Mestayer and Angelle 
Marie Dugas of Loreauville, LA; and brothers, Charles Elkins Mestayer of 
Loreauville, LA and Lovere Lane Mestayer of Brazoria, TX. 

In World War II, he saw action as a Ships Officer in the South Pacific, North 
Atlantic and European Combat Theaters of operations. He spent 5 years in the 
Regular Army and Army Reserves, recalled for the Korean War. He then spent 33 
years working all over the world in Seismic exploration, Submarines, 
Destroyers, Aircraft Carriers, New Ship Construction, Ariel Photography and 
Missile Range work. It was a wonderful, interesting life that just flew by! 

In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice of South Louisiana, 205 Bayou Gardens 
Blvd., Suite E. Houma, LA 70364. 

Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
