He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 8:30am to service time at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 10:00am at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church with burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. He is survived by his Spouse: Lydia Theriot Champagne, Son: Christopher J. Champagne, Step Sons: Steven Marcel and wife Madlyn, David Marcel and wife Melinda, Rick Marcel and wife Michele, Daughters: Nancy Trahan and husband Tommy, Peggy Aucoin and husband Anthony "Tony" Aucoin, Step Daughters: Cathy Marcel Jarveaux, Debra Marcel Champagne and husband Joey, Amy Marcel St. Martin. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Leonce P. Champagne and Sante Duplantis Champagne, First Wife: Ella Mae Chauvin Champagne, Son: Barry J. Champagne, Step Daughter: Linda Marcel LeBlanc, Brothers: Lindbergh Champagne, and Eugene Champagne. He was a member/parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. He was a founding member of the E.A.A. in Houma, LA., and a Veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War II. The family would like to thank Hospice of South Louisiana, his caregiver Jill Usie and aid Joella, Dr. Jules Dupont, and the staff at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and Fr. Joey Pilola of Maria Immacolata for all their love and care during our family's time of need. US Navy ======================
