Allen Joseph Melancon, age 87, a native of Donaldsonville and resident of 
Houma, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016 at 5:18 AM. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27 from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time 
at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, 

with burial to follow in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery. 

He is survived by his son, Stephen Melancon; daughters, Jeanne Rhodes and 
husband, Benny, Denise Benoit and husband, Pete, and Charlotte Day and husband, 
Dirk; brother, Paul Melancon Jr. and wife, Annalee; sisters, Mildred Smith and 
husband, Leonard, and Dorothy Charlet; grandchildren, Jeffrey LeBoeuf and wife, 
Krystal, Jenna Clause and husband, Kyle, and Matthew Rhodes and wife, Katie; 
great-grandchildren, Sophie Frank, Madox Rhodes and Lillian Rhodes. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Stanislaus Sr. and Leonie 
Schexnayder Melancon; former wife, Mabel Dufresne Melancon; sons, Michael 
Melancon and David Melancon; brother-in-law, Billy Charlet. 

He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. 

Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
