Gerald "Jake" Sewire, age 67, a native and resident of Thibodaux, peacefully 
transitioned from labor to reward on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016. 

Visiting will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20 from 9 a.m. until the hour service 
at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Baptist Church in Thibodaux. 

Burial will follow in St. Peter Baptist Church cemetery. 

He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife, Cynthia Sewire; one son, 
Kentrell Johnson; two stepsons, Rontrell (Monchel) and Alfonzo Johnson; two 
stepdaughters, Juanita and Tashiba Johnson whom he loved as his own children; 
three brothers, Alvin, Floyd and Donald Sewire; four sisters, Diane Hall, 
Gwendolyn Guillot, Joyce Sewire and Janet Harts; and seven grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and James Sewire; and one 
brother, Charles Washington.
