Joseph Ray "Jamaica Joe" Simmons, 60, a native of Tylertown, MS, passed away 
peacefully at 1:13 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time at Dularge Community Baptist 
Church. The funeral will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the 
church, 

with burial to follow in Halfway Cemetery. 

He is survived by two sons, Joseph Ray Mitchell and Philippian Mitchell; 
daughter, Chanel Wright; mother, Mariah Conerly Simmons; brothers, Clifton 
Conerly and Marned Simmons (Jarnell); sisters, Linda and Anna Simmons, Robin 
Bonvillian, and Alisha Conerly; and four grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by one son, David Ray Mitchell; father, Emmitt Walter 
Simmons; brothers, Jessie, Jerry and Raymond Simmons; and one sister, Rose 
Simmons. 

Arrangements entrusted to Jones Funeral Home of Houma.
