Janie Marie Scott Solomon, 56, a native of Houma and resident of Austell, 
Georgia, died peacefully on February 15th, 2016 after a long battle with heart 
problems 

A memorial mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 20th at St. Lucy 
Catholic Church in Houma. 

She is survived by her son, Xavier Scott, Austell, Georgia; daughter, Monchel 
Solomon, Grand Praire, Texas; brother, Willie Scott, Jr, (Lisa), New Orleans; 
sisters, Gloria Harris, Austell, Georgia, and Beverly Young (Hanson), Houma, 
and one granddaughter Makayla Ellis. 

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Willie Scott Sr. and Lula Mae Amos 
Scott; sister, Brenda Scott; grandparents, Willis and Lucy Turner Scott and 
Joseph and Jannie Neal Amos. 

South Care Cremation and Funeral Home, Marietta, Georgia is in charge of 
arrangements.
