Morris J. Cortez, 71 , was born on January 18, 1945 and passed away on March 
31, 2016. 
He was a native and resident of Choctaw, LA.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at St. James Chapel in 
Choctaw from 8:00 AM until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will take 
place at 11:00 AM 

with burial to follow in St. James Chapel cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Alsida Hebert Cortez; children, Lisa Cortez Naquin 
and husband, Roy Naquin, Jr., Faron J. Cortez and wife Stephanie Rose Cortez; 
grandchildren, Lacie Naquin Gravois, Kayla Naquin, Paige Naquin Angelloz, 
Hunter Cortez, Preston Cortez, Brandon Naquin, Cole Cortez, and Hailey Cortez; 
great grandchildren, Coy Gravois, Raelynn Gravois, and Ella Claire Viallon; 
brothers and sisters, Delores Cortez Lester, Clarence Cortez, Sr., and Birdine 
Cortez Tabor.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fritez Pierre Cortez and Eva Benoit 
Cortez; son, Morris J. Cortez, Jr. and brother, Horace Cortez.

Thibodaux Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with handling the funeral 
arrangements.
