Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2016/f1603.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== U.S. Veteran Robert “Bobby” Fakier, 86, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Houma, died at 8:30 AM on Monday, March 14, 2016. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until service time at Saint Francis de Sales Cathedral on Saturday, March 19, 2016. A funeral mass will begin at 11:00 AM at the church. He is survived by four sons, Lawrence “Larry” Fakier and wife Lori, Robert “Keith” Fakier, Richard “Ricky” Fakier and Timothy “Timmy” Fakier; daughter, Dawn Fakier, brother, Richard “Dickie” Fakier and wife Barbara; grandchildren, Rick, Carrie, Amanda, Brittany, Matthew, Kevin, Christopher, Angelique, Rachel, David and eight great grandchildren and one step great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean “Muzzy” Haydel Fakier, parents, William and Mae Chauvin Fakier, brothers, Barry and William “Billy” Fakier. Bobby was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, a Korean War veteran, retired oil field salesman. He was the past president of the Vandebilt Terrier Club and past member of the Krewe of Christopher. The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Haydel, Dr. Gerald Haydel, Dr. Scott Haydel, Dr. Matthew Watkins, Dr. Lisa Black and the staff on 4 North floor at TGMC for all of the continuous care that was provided to their father and “Poppy”.
