He was the son of the late Lucien and Mary Anne Luquette. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland, LA. Religious services at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in Des Allemands Mennonite Cemetery. He is survived by his six children, Nanette L. Dufrene (Rodney, Sr.), Lawrence A. Luquette (Rhonda), Cindy Robert (Kevin), Michael Luquette (Sherry), Ross Luquette (Jennifer) and Daniel Luquette (Melissa); brother, Jabins Luquette; 13 grandchildren, Tasha Luquette (Stephen Champagne), Gus Luquette (Hope), Lawrence Luquette III (Ashandre' Scott), Echo Cancienne (Charles), Catie Harrison (James), Fawn Hohcusee, Michelle Hart (Josh), Dustin Luquette (Brittni Culberson), Lindsey Luquette, Ross Luquette, Jr., Danielle Sandolph (Jermaine), Andrew Luquette, Jacqueline Dufrene-Diaz (Rodney, Jr.); 17 great grandchildren, Marcos Dufrene, Claudia Dufrene, Micaela Diaz, Talia Diaz, Karsyn Cortez, Jesse McCarter, Matt McCarter, Daniel Champagne, Gemma Champagne, Greysen Champagne, Leland Luquette, Lawrence Luquette IV, Lexie Luquette, Aiden Hohcusee, Amyia Sandolph, Ja Ziyah Sandolph and Jermaine Sandolph, Jr. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ilsa and his second wife of 55 years, Marie Anise Rousseau Luquette; brother, Lawrence Luquette and grandson, Rodney Paul Dufrene, Jr. He retired from Cytec, formerly American Cyanamid, after 42 years. He was a Mason for fifty plus years, He also served his country in the army, rising to the rank of Master Sergeant.
