Janell Stewart, 48. A native of Gibson, LA and resident of Houma, LA died at 
Terrebonne General Medical Center on Tuesday, March 22, 2016.

The Life of Janell Stewart will be celebrated on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Mt. 
Pilgrim Baptist Church 4328 N. Bayou Black Drive Gibson, LA 70356. Her service 
will be officiated by Rev. James Allen, Sr.
She will have visitation from 10:00a.m. until funeral time at 2:00p.m. 

Interment will be at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church cemetery, Gibson.

She is survived by her mother, Emma Bernadine Stewart. One son, Stafford 
Matthews and three daughters, Reshanda (Kevin) Matthews, Vandelynn and Johnakia 
Stewart. Six brothers, Roy, Charlie, Jr., Delbert, Michael, Clay and Larry 
(Annie) Stewart. Five Sisters, Gloria Short, Bernada Clay, Gilda Stewart, 
Brunetta Stewart, Lisa Short and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Matthews. Father, Charlie L. 
Stewart, Sr., and one sister, Valerie Carvin.

She was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church and she enjoyed cooking, dancing 
and spending time with her grandchildren.

Community Funeral Home 230 S. Hollywood Rd., Houma, LA 70360 in charge of 
arrangements.
