Shirley W. "Nanny" Alexander, 80, a native of New Orleans and resident of 
Raceland, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016. 

Visitation will be held at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Mathews on Saturday, 
April 23 from 10:00 a.m. until funeral time. Funeral Services will be held at 
the funeral home at 12:00 p.m., 

with burial to follow in Westlawn Cemetery. 

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jack E. Alexander; daughter, Melda 
Boone (Noal); grandchild, Brennan Boone; great grandchildren, Zayne Boone and 
one on the way; godchildren, Candy Hutter, and Darlene Carmouche. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Jennie Williams; sister, 
Helen Williams Newby; brother-in-law, Warren "Mike" Newby; and godchild, Mickey 
Paul Newby. 

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
