Marie Toups Bernard, a native and resident of Thibodaux, was called to rest on 
Saturday, April 2, 2016. 

A visitation will be held in her honor on, April 6, 2016 at St. Joseph Co-
cathedral in Thibodaux from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial 
will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. The burial will follow in 
St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. She is survived by daughter, Bonnie (James 
Moore) Moore; son, John Roland Bernard, Jr.; granddaughter, Helen Moore; two 
great-granddaughters, Ashlyn Moore, Angelle Moore; great great-grandson, Connor 
Moore. 

She is preceded in death by husband, of 66 years John "Bolly" Roland Bernard; 
father, Clarence Henry Toups; mother, Hattie Celeste Toups; two brothers, James 
Toups, Kenneth Toups; sister, Nell Toups Hebert; granddaughter, Amelia Moore. 
She was a proud charter member of the Thibodaux Garden Club and the Lenten 
Gumbo Crew at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. In lieu of flowers donations to the 
Lenten Gumbo Crew at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. 

Landry is in charge of arrangements.
