BEST, KENT DOUGLAS 

Kent Douglas Best, 80, died Monday, April 25, 2016 at 8:35 PM. 
He was a native of Clarksdale, MS and resident of Houma, LA. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from Noon until service 
time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, 
April 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. 

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Ouida Sandifer Best; his 
children, Cheryl Thompson, Christy Davies, Katherine Montroy, Curtis Gros Jr., 
and Carrie Bourgeois; sisters, Barbara Benson, Caroline Henley and Sandra 
Bodureaux; twenty-two grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Best and Vannie Ruth Best; 
Daughter, Kristine Portera; and brother Leon Best. 

He was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed poker, fantasy football and trading 
stock. 
His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends.
