George Cleveland, Sr., age 85, a native of Raceland and resident of New Orleans, transitioned into eternal life on Friday, April 22, 2016. 

Visiting will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church in Raceland, 

with burial in the Morning Star Baptist Church cemetery. 

He leaves to cherish his memories, five sons, Quincy Cleveland Johnson (Lisa), Jerome Cleveland Johnson (Paige), Lawrence Cleveland (Giszel Mosley) and David Nevels; one daughter, Tania Hamilton; one brother, Oscar Cleveland, two step kids, Irvin Johnson, Sr. and Barbara Payton; a host of grandchildren. 

Preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Ada Cleveland; three brothers, Morel and Morris Cleveland and Samuel Charles; five sisters, Edna Harris, Lillian Wright, Evalena Wilson, Lizzie and Sedonia Cleveland 

Kennedy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
