Gerald D. Long, 87, a native of Pittsburgh, PA and a longtime resident of 
Thibodaux, LA, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic 
Church in Thibodaux, LA from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial 
will begin at 10:30 am at the church 

followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.

He is survived by his son, James Long; daughters, Linda Knabb, Alice Levron, 
and Ellen Matherne; sister, Lela Wesche; 5 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Keller Long; parents, Benjamin F. 
Long, Sr. and Odette Adams Long; brother, Benjamin F. Long Sr.

He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a veteran of World War II, 
and a retired school principal.
