Philip Harry Melancon, Jr. died Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 1:55 PM. 
He was a native and resident of Houma. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 29 from 9:00AM until service time at 
Saint Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 
10:00AM at the church. Burial will follow at Terrebonne Memorial. 

He is survived by his wife, Nella Tomasello Melancon; daughters, Elaine Smith 
and husband, Danny, Serena Nelson and husband, Hurley; grandchildren, Tanner 
Magee and wife, Kristen, Courtnee Smith, and Annalyse Nelson; great-
grandchildren, Grace, Julia, and Kate Magee; brothers, Ralph and Ronnie 
Melancon. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Mabel Bergeron Melancon; 
sister, Joan Landry. 

He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He worked for McDermott as a superintendent for 
many years in the Gulf and overseas. He owned Philo's Fisherman's Supply Store. 

He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. 

Arrangements in the care of Ordoyne Funeral Home.
