Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2016/f1604.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Albert Jerome Mire, 87, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 3:50 a.m. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 9 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at noon at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. Albert was married to Ramona Breaux Mire for 67 years and was survived by her as well as three children, Ruth Mire Lovell and spouse Nathanael (Nat) Lovell, Dianne Mire Griffith and spouse Jack J. Griffith, and Joan Mire Crochet Roseberry; grandchildren, Travis Jerome Lovell and spouse Lindsay, Tonya Crochet Bray and companion Chris Ledet, Amber Ann Roseberry; and a step- grandson, Jack Lloyd Griffith; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Bray and Juliannah Grace Lovell, Miller Claire Lovell (expected during the summer of 2016) and one step-granddaughter Olivia Griffith; sister, Shirley Mire Fruchtnicht and sister-in-law Lynn Crosby Breaux and numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was preceded in death by his mother Sophie Theriot Mire and his father Jerome Mire; step-mother, Marie Palmisano Mire; sister, Dorothy Mire; foster parents, Daly Champagne and Sarahline Theriot Champagne; two sons-in-law, Steve Roseberry and Paul Crochet, Jr. Albert was known by all who knew him as "A.J." and was an employee at A M & J C Dupont's for 21 years and a dedicated employee of Main Iron Works for over 30 years. A.J. was also a Korean war veteran. During his life, he never met a stranger and was well known for his incredibly strong handshake. He will be forever remembered as a praying man who took time every day for at least an hour of prayer daily. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a member/parishioner of Harvest Cathedral for many years.
