Joyce Rita Parfait, 80, a native of Grand Caillou and resident of Houma, died 
Monday, April 25, 2016 at 12:40 AM. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 27 from 5 PM until 9 PM at the 
Magnolia Chapel of Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 AM until funeral time 
Thursday, April 28 at Annunziata Catholic Church. Services will begin at 11 AM 
at the church, 

with Interment in St. Francis DeSales Cemetery II. 

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Varnis Joseph Parfait; son, Faron 
and wife, Lena Verdin Parfait; daughters, Rachael Parfait Pierre, and Dierdra 
Parfait Scott and husband, David Scott; brothers, Howard, Nile, Clyde, Michael 
and Fabian Dion; sisters, Lois Salinas, Ethel Haynes, Adrial Boals, Caldriat 
Breaux, Chawdry Billiot, Maryal Mewherter , Fern Gautreaux and Cherrel Parfait; 
and 19 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Annie Solet Dion; sons, 
Herschel, Darrell and Ferrell Parfait; brothers, Elton and Autry Dion; and 
grandson, Shannon Scott. 

She was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church. Mrs. Parfait loved 
cooking, sewing and cake decorating. She enjoyed traveling and especially being 
with family and friends. 

Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Parfait family.
