Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 9 a.m. until funeral time at St. Louis Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.. Burial will be held in St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery. She is survived by her sons, Caroll Samanie and wife Mercedes, and Larry Samanie and wife Alice; daughters, Juanita Pennison and husband Timothy, Katherine Deroche and husband Ivy Jr., and Cindy Samanie and fiance Patrick Dupre; sister-in-law, Lola Gaubert; grandchildren, Tricia S. Johnson and husband David, Stephanie Samanie and companion Ashley Williams, Dawn S. Lamkins and husband Paul, Ron Samanie, Christine S. Blanchard and husband Jeffery, Megan S. Harrington and husband Randy, Stacie Pennison, Eric Deroche and wife Dawn, Kayla D. LeBlanc and husband Walter, and Keith Kraemer; great- grandchildren, Blake and Emily Johnson, Trymaine Samanie, Travon and Aleah Williams, Dylan and William Lamkins, Matthew and Alex Blanchard, Brooke and Brody Deroche, and Andrew and Adalyn LeBlanc. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Norris Joseph Samanie; parents, Thomas and Theresa Richard Gaubert; brothers, Lawrence and Emile Gaubert; sisters, Louise Ledet, Edna Babin, Enola Ledet, Edith LeBlanc and Irma Simon. She was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a nurturing homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, and doing her word search puzzle books. Thanks to Journey Hospice, especially Beverly Diggs, Lois Arnold, and Krysten Clute, for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations for masses would be very much appreciated.
