Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Magnolia Chapel of Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., and on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until Service time at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with burial to follow in Holy Rosary Catholic Church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Otecia Vizier Bonvillain; Children, Charlene (Chris) Lapeyrouse, Benjamin Bonvillain and companion, Patricia Samanie, Keith (Ann) Bonvillain, Chris (Denise) Bonvillain, Rachel Bonvillain Breaux, Ted Bonvillain and Carey Bonvillain; Grandchildren, Brandi Leblanc, Karen Bonvillain, Ryan Bonvillain, Bryan Lapeyrouse Nikki Bonvillain, Kristi Ray, Crystal Blanchard, Joshua Breaux, Casey Lapeyrouse and Tyler Bonvillain; 15 Great Grandchildren, and one on the way. Brothers, August (Anna Mae) Bonvillain and Barry (Elyrea) Bonvillain; Sister in Laws, Melva (Manuel) Richard, Ceda (James) Richard and Louise Vizier; Brother in Law, Andrew Vizier and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Dousia Breaux Bonvillain; Brother, Dudley Bonvillain, Sr.; Father and Mother in Law, Otis and Alcida Vizier; Brother in Law, Amadee Vizier, Sister in Law, Patsy Vizier and godchild, Dudley Bonvillain, Jr. He graduated Terrebonne High School and went onto join the U.S. Marines. He fought in the Korean War and received a purple heart. He returned and married Otecia and started their family. He enjoyed life to the fullest and nothing was going to stop him. He enjoyed fishing, going to the camp, going to the casino and bingo. He loved playing pedro and boo-ray. He was one of a kind and never met a stranger. He was a member of the Marine Corp League, United Veterans League, VFW, Terrebonne Sportsman’s League, American Legion. Honorary Board member of the East Park Volunteer Fire Department, Knights of Columbus, Fraternal Orders of the Purple Heart and Disabled American Veterans.
