Cancienne, 78, a native of Bayou Black, LA and a resident of Houma, LA, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux, LA. Visitation will resume on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at the church with burial in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church cemetery. She is survived by her sisters, Rose Richard, Amelia “Peanut” Thibodaux, and Shirley Hebert; her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Paul Cancienne; parents, Emile Blanchard and Marie Hebert Blanchard; sister, Alice Mae Blanchard. Joyline was a member of the Krewe of Cleophas and a recent TOPS member. She loved bowling and fishing and was fondly known as “Grannie” to many.
