He was a native of Houma and resident of Schriever, LA. Burial will be held in St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Dianne Brock Dupre; son, Ronnie Joseph Dupre, Jr.; daughter, Audra Dupre Zeman and husband, John "Scott", Laurie Murchison Attaway and husband, Brandon, and Virginia "Ginny" Elizabeth Eschete and husband, Drake; brother, Willie Anthony Dupre and wife, Jan; grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Zeman, Jake Alexander Zeman, Layla Elise LeCompte, Isabella Marie Attaway and Jerome Joseph Eschete. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Easton and Stella Marie Daigle Dupre; brother, Infant Son Dupre. Ron had many interests in life. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his wife and his friends and family. Earlier in his life, in the 1970’s, he was a recreational pilot. He spent approximately 650 hours in the air. More recently, he was an avid deep sea fisherman. He was on an SGA fishing team and placed in tournaments on several occasions. He loved LSU and his New Orleans Saints, whether they were having a good or bad season and attended many games at the Superdome. One of his favorite moments was at the game when they finally made it to the Superbowl. He also enjoyed golfing, bicycling, and gardening. Professionally, he was considered an expert in his field of Drilling Fluids Engineering. He was a Subject Matter Expert (SME) at Chevron Covington and Deep Water Houston. He was highly respected and coauthored several SPE papers due to his expertise. Additionally, he was a guest speaker numerous times at AADE conferences on drilling fluids. His colleagues described him as the “go to guy” when it came to deep water drilling fluids. He even assisted in pioneering the use of Riserless Drilling Fluids which is now an industry standard in all deep water drilling applications. In 2008, he had an opportunity to work at Century Exploration. This was the first time that he was able to engineer and oversee the execution of an entire well from start to finish. This was a major turning point in his career and he was able to take these skills with him in his professional duties all the way up until he retired. Ron was very passionate in all aspects of his life, whether personally or professionally. He never did anything without thorough research on the topic. He prided himself on knowing what he was talking about and did not hold back in sharing that information. He treasured those closest to him because he valued the meaning of true friendship. If you were one of the lucky friends in his life, you always knew that he was in your corner. He also was proud to say that he had found the love of his life. He referred to his wife Dianne as “his heart”. Their time together was precious and he was not embarrassed to let everyone know just how much he loved her. Besides his love for her, his greatest joy was his children and grandchildren. He loved when he was surrounded by them, even in the final moments of his life. There was no greater feeling that knowing his love. In lieu of flowers, his wish was to have donations made to St. Jude Hospital. He felt that flowers would die, but that the children could benefit forever. The address for donations is 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105. Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to serve the Dupre family. ======================
