Memorial services will be held at Civitan Clubhouse on 6741 Alma St. in Houma, La at 7pm CT on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Hospice, Civitan, TARC or local ARC, Special Olympics, United Ostomy Association or Cancer Foundation in memory of Rose Goolsby. The final resting place will be in Marshall, MO with date of services to be determined. She is survived by her five children Deborah (Robert) Lewis of Phoenix, AZ, Mike (Cindy) Goolsby of Lafayette, LA, Sandy Davis of Florala, AL, Jackie (Nick) Baca of Kingman, AZ, Brenda (Rudy) Naquin of Thibodaux, LA; brother Leo (Betty) Bauerle, sisters Mary (Wayne) Johnston, Ruthie (Bob) Kisielewski (Deceased) and Connie (Kenneth) Dierker; 10 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren. Rose was a graduate of Mercy Academy of Marshall, MO and McArthur Technical College of Opp, AL. Worked with Village East Rentals 1981 - 2014 as an accountant and Office Manager for Carriage Cove Mobile Home Community (known as Miss Rose). Rose touched many lives through her years of involvement in the community; American Business Women’s Assoc (ABWA, 1982 - 1989) as Community Chair, Treasurer, Vice President, and Board Member; United Ostomy Association (UOA, 1982 - Present) as President, President Elect, Treasurer, and Board Member; Charter member of Bayou Civitan (1985 - Present) as Community Chairperson, President, President Elect, Treasurer and Board Member and supporting local and state Special Olympics, providing monthly birthday parties at Heritage Manor Nursing Home; Louisiana District Civitan (1987 - Present) Lt Governor, Area Director, District Training Coordinator and Board Member; TARC Board of Directors. Rose was honored and presented many awards through the years, to name just a few; ABWA, Woman of the Year 1984, President Award 1987; UOA, Outstanding Presidents Award 1984-1987; Civitan, Board of Director’s Award 1986-87, Distinguished President’s Award 1988-1989, Foundation Fellow award (scholarship funds donated in name of Rose), Club Honor Key 1990, District Honor Key 1995, Lifetime Membership Award 1996.
