Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2016/f1605.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Edward Paul Gros, 89, a native of Morgan City, LA and a resident of Thibodaux, LA, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held on May 31, 2016 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church from 8:30 am to 11:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery will take place at a later date. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Loretta Arcement Gros; son, Michael Gros; daughters, Barbara Naquin and husband Larry, Catherine Naquin and husband Clifton Jr., Judy Simoneaux and husband Wayne, Nancy Gros; sister, Enola Waguespack; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eusebe Gros and Mabel Ledet Gros; sisters, Lilly Mae Berger, Marie Benoit, Elizabeth Collier; brothers, twin Edwin Gros, Nolan Gros, Robert Gros, Milton Gros and Joseph Gros. Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Pacific Campaign in World War II. A longtime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, he rose steadily through their ranks as Post Commander for Post #5097, District Commander, and State Commander. He was also a recipient of the Durel Award for Citizenship. He always made his family the priority in his life, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
