He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Prairieville, LA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 10:30am until service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00pm at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with burial to follow in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Kate Porche Péré; children, Henry W. Péré III and wife Shari, Jeanne Péré Dawson and husband Michael, David John Péré , Wayne Philip Péré and companion Stacey Cabaj; brothers, Neil F. Péré and wife Dorothy and Dean E. Péré and wife Eila; grandchildren, Brittany, Nikolas, Chelsea and husband Nick Skias, Landon, Camille, Kaitlin, Christian, Carley, Henry IV, Isaak, and Jason; and one great granddaughter, Olivia. Henry is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry William Péré Sr. and Lurline Munson Péré; son, Adrian Camille Péré. Henry loved to spend time at his hunting camp. He enjoyed many hobbies and crafts, including woodworking, fishing, crabbing, and playing his dulcimer. He was a patron of the arts including, the theater, opera, and the symphony. Henry was a retired architect with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from LSU and a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Arts Education from Northwestern State University. He was a devoté of Frank Lloyd Wright, who greatly inspired his own work. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to Catholic Charities of Baton Rouge or Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.
