A visitation will be held in his honor on Monday, June 20, 2016 at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, Thibodaux, LA from 8:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. The burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Thibodaux, LA. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Ledet Battaglia; five children, Angela B. Blanchard, Mark Battaglia and wife Lori, Jeffrey Battaglia and wife Celeste, Maria B. Tatman and husband David, Stephen Battaglia Sr. and wife Felecia; sister, Anna Louise Battaglia Rodrigue; grandchildren, Alexandra Blanchard, Brandon Naquin, Mia Battaglia, Nicolas Battaglia, Alyssa Battaglia, Anthony Battaglia, Carley Tatman, Morgan Tatman, David Tatman Jr., Teri Aucoin, Stephen Battaglia Jr. and Victoria Battaglia; and two great-granddaughters, Oakleigh Aucoin, and Andi Naquin. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Battaglia and Angelina Greco Battaglia; five brothers, Anthony Battaglia, John Battaglia, Jr., Sam Battaglia, Joseph Battaglia, Charles Battaglia; and sister, Marian Battaglia Melancon. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II, stationed at Truax Field in Madison, Wisconsin. He earned his bachelor's degree and Master's, plus 30 at Louisiana State University. He was a school teacher and a driver's education instructor in the Lafourche Parish School System for 34 years.
