She was born March 05, 1923 in Hammond, LA and was a longtime resident of Napoleonville and Thibodaux, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 9:00 AM until service time at St. Anne Catholic Church in Napoleonville, LA. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at the church with burial following in St. Anne Catholic Church cemetery in Napoleonville. She is survived by her children, Nelson Simmons of Palm Springs, CA, Connie Thornton and husband Verlie Ray Thornton, III of Napoleonville, LA; grandchildren, Jeremy and Jessica Thornton; step children, Ron Landry of New Orleans, LA, David Landry and wife Laurie of Perdido Key, FL, Barry Landry, M.D. and wife Debbie of Thibodaux, LA, Alice Landry Champagne and husband Greg of Luling, LA; step grandchildren, Benton, Lauryn, Adrianne, Jeremy, Jason, Brigitte, Samantha, Rochelle and Gregory; sister, Catherine Signorelli Thibodeaux. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clyde J. Simmons and Ambroise H. Landry; daughter, Cynthia Simmons Cline; parents, Dominic and Philipina Morici Signorelli; siblings, Mary S. Locascio, Anna S. Domenica, Joseph Signorelli, Henry Signorelli, Lena S. Graffeo, Jenny S. Lombardo, Josie S. Foti Laughlin, Tony Signorelli, Lucille S. Foti, Frances S. Charpentier. Rose attended school in Hammond and St. Martinville, and she completed one year at USL before moving to Napoleonville. She worked in the Louisiana Abstract Co. typing and translating French records in Clerks of Court offices in surrounding parishes. She later worked for many years as a legal secretary while she also enjoyed sharing her beautiful voice with all. Rose will be missed by friends and family alike. The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the doctors and staff at Thibodaux Regional, as well as to everyone at St. Joseph Manor for taking care of Rose. We would also like to thank our wonderful caregivers and Haydel Memorial Hospice.
