William Smith Jr., 92, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Houma, 
passed away peacefully at 5:20 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016. 

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, 
June 17 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel, 6775 West Park Ave., Houma, La, 

with burial to follow in Southdown Cemetery. 

He is survived by his son, William Smith III.; daughters, Hazel Evans and Lou 
Harding (Clifford); twenty-six grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and 
friends. He was preceded in death by his wives, Rosie Coleman-Smith and Helen 
Smith; sons, Russell and John Smith; daughter, Rosie Howard; parents, William 
Sr. and Letha Melton-Smith; brothers, Earl and Ernest Hartman Calvin and John 
Smith; and sisters, Evella Johnson, Forence and Eula Hartman. 

Arrangements entrusted to Jones Funeral Home of Houma.
