She was a native of Soda, TX, and resident of Bayou Blue for sixty years and most recent of St. Petersburg, FL. She is survived by her sons, Eugene W. Arcement and his wife, Yvonne; James J. Arcement and wife, Catherine; daughter, Eloyne A. Erickson and husband, Bradley; brothers, L.C. Placker, and Mackon Placker and wife, Margie; grandchildren, Chris, Jeffrey, Michael, Emily and Matthew Arcement, Betsy and Brad Whittington; eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty six years Eugene Warren Arcement, Sr.; parents, Willie Mackon Placker and Mattie Aurilla Thompson Moye; sister, Mildred Placker; brother, Earl H. Placker; sister-in-law, Dorothy Placker. A devoted christian, Reta Mae was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and loved very much by her family. After graduating high school, she met her husband and married in 1945 after WWII. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery and made many of her and her family’s clothing items herself. She was very close to her brother L.C., and they enjoyed daily conversations. Reta Mae lived a beautiful life. She passed away peacefully in her St. Petersburg, Florida home, surrounded by her family bearing witness to her transition into the arms of her Lord and Savior. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, July 21, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until the Religious service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery. ======================
