He was a native of Houma and resident of Bourg, LA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at St. Ann Parish Center in Bourg and Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 9:00 AM until funeral time at St. Ann Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held in St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lillie Mae Boquet Chauvin; son, Douglas (Monica) Chauvin, Jr; daughters, Lillie (Stephen) Brunet, Donna (Malcolm) Autin, Amanda (Michael) Calogero, Shannon (Michael) Naber, and Crystal (Tod) Williams; brother, Daniel (Patti) Chauvin; sisters, Sylvia Sweeney, Diane (Ron) Nix, and Cele (Curt) Fabre; grandchildren, Matthew, Stephanie, Allison, Tony, Mary-Beth, D.J., Clarke, Jeffrey, Caroline, Lauren, Morgan and Maci; great- grandchildren, James and Lily. He was preceded in death by his father, Nelson Anthony Chauvin; mother, Velma Marie LeCompte Melton; stepmother, Eula P. Fanguy; daughter, Mary Beth Chauvin; brother, David A. Chauvin; sister, Joan C. Commander. He was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. He devoted his life to serving others. He has been the Constable of Ward 5 in Bourg for the past 11 years. He was with the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office for 43 years. He was a volunteer fireman and certified first responder. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and American. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bourg Elementary School in his memory. Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to serve the Chauvin family. ======================
