She was 98 years old. Billie was born on April 29, 1918 in Niles, Ohio to Edward and Anna Strohmeyer. She was the eighth of their sixteen children and attended St. Stephen Catholic School in Niles, Ohio. She is survived by her sister, Martha Strohmeyer (Sister Estelle),who lives in Michigan. She was the loving mother of Sue Ellen McIlvaine (James), Thibodaux, LA, Carolyn Ann Burger (Ronald), Marco Island, FL and Larry Neil Cox (Margaret), Powell, OH. Billie also had nine grandchildren including Jennifer (Tim) Grundy, Rance (Terina) McIlvaine, Chad McIlvaine, Jeanne (Richard) Wanchisn, Aaron (Christeena) Burger, Natasha Gossard, Brian (Nicole) Cox and Steven Cox. Great grandchildren include Max Grundy, Lauren Grundy, Riley McIlvaine, Jonathan Anders, Parker McIlvaine, Jordan Martin, Aidan McIlvaine, Meghan Burger, Mason Burger, Jon-Luc Gossard, Jacqueline Gossard, Daniel Wanchisn and Natalie Cox. She married Hubert Ray Cox in 1940 and they lived in the village of McDonald, Ohio for 32 years raising their family. In 1972, Billie moved to the Mainland’s in Pinellas Park, FL with her husband until 2012. There she learned to paint with pastels, creating many portraits of family members and religious art. She loved living in this Community where she enjoyed the social events, dancing, Pinochle with her friends, and playing the organ and mandolin. In March, 2012 she moved to Thibodaux, LA to live with her daughter, Sue Ellen and Jim McIlvaine. She was a kind, fun loving and patient woman with a great love for Jesus Christ and the Church. The family takes comfort in knowing she is with Him now. Billie and her husband, H. Ray Cox, were married for 58 years when he died in August, 1998. She was also preceded in death by a step-son, H. Ray Cox, Jr., her brothers, Edward Strohmeyer, Walter Strohmeyer, Clem Strohmeyer, Paul Strohmeyer, Raymond Strohmeyer, Ira Strohmeyer, Virgil Strohmeyer, Herman Strohmeyer, Regis Strohmeyer, and her sisters, Evelyn Strohmeyer, Coletta Griffith, Florence Strohmeyer, Jerry Strohmeyer(Sister Loretta),Dorothy Girodot, and grandson, Jason McIlvaine. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Thibodaux, LA to celebrate her life. Remains will be interned at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Clearwater, FL. ======================
