She was surrounded by her family at her home in Tomball, TX on the evening of Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 08:04 PM at the age of 82. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 6 PM until 8 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., 5899 Hwy 311, Houma, LA and Monday, July 18, 2016 at 9 AM until funeral time at St. Eloi Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will be held in St. Eloi Catholic Church Cemetery. She is survived by her sons, David C. Madere and wife, Melissa, Rene P. Madere and wife, Ellen, and Stephen J. Madere and companion, Mark Binder; daughter, Michelle M. Toups and husband, Carl; grandchildren, C.J. Toups and wife, Kayla, Ryan Toups and wife, Ashley, Michael Madere and wife, Lindsey, Jessica Wyatt and husband, Jason, Jennifer Lirette and husband, Logan, Nicholas Madere, Brandon Madere, Joshua Toups, Luke Toups and Sarah Toups; 13 great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Charles Edmond Madere, III; Julia was born in Houma, LA on October 28, 1933 to Edward Joseph Sr. and Alzina Elizabeth Babin Brunet; raised by aunt and uncle, Augustin "Gus" and Olympe B. Theriot; brother, Edward Brunet, Jr.; sisters, Lydia B. Dhuet and Francis B. Pitre. She was a parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church. She was graduate of Terrebonne High School in 1953. She had several jobs in her life, but focused most of her time on raising her family, living in Laurel, MS and Theriot, LA. Julia was a women of many talents. She enjoyed reading, fishing, woodworking, painting, enjoying outdoor activities, playing cards with friends and making rosaries for missionaries.
