She was 70. A visitation will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a celebration of Catholic Mass at the church at 3:30 p.m. and burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. Born June 25, 1946, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, to Elmus House Coleman and Mina Genevieve (Gross) Coleman, she grew up in Lake Providence, Louisiana. Mina graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1968 two months after meeting Jerome “Jerry” S. McKee. The two were married April 6 the next year and remained together for the next 47 years until her death. They made their home in Thibodaux in 1975, where the two owned and operated Laurel Valley Plantation. She raised two children, and was an active and respected member of her local church and community. She was a loving wife, doting mother, was well-loved by friends and family and left an indelible mark on the world around her as she moved gracefully through it. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughter, Genevieve McKee, of New Orleans; son, Bill McKee, of Pullman, Washington; brothers Phillip Coleman and Bubba Coleman, both of Thibodaux; and sister, Louise Wallich, of New Orleans; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux in charge of the arrangements. ======================
