Donald Joseph Melancon,Sr., died July 27, 2016 p.m. He was a native of 
Lockport,, LA and resident of Houma, LA.

Vistiation will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 10:30 AM until Service 
time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.  Funeral Mass will be held at the 
church at 12:00 PM 

with burial to follow at St. Francis #2 Cemetery.

He is survived by his, Wife of 58 years Judith Michel Melancon ; sons, Donald 
Jr. and wife Gwen Olivier Melancon, Jeffrey & wife Amanda Eschete Melancon,  
Damien Melancon; daughters, Justine Melancon, Monica & husband Gavin Core  
numerous  grandchildren and  great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his, Parents,  Octave F. and Amelia Boudreaux 
Melancon;  nephews, Steve Melancon and Mark Madere, brothers, Ray and Freddie 
Melancon;  niece, Virginia Guichet; sisters, Helen Melancon Madere  and Elise 
Melancon Songe.

He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.

Donald was especially proud of raising his granddaughter, Crystal Melancon 
Conner.

He was a Member of Judge Adrian Caillouet General Assembly 4th degree K of 
C.,Honary member of K.C. Council 1317, Past Grand Knight, and District Deputy, 
Fishing rodeo weighmaster for 51 years, retired auditor for Terrebonne Parish 
Sales & Use tax dept., and a former vocational chairman for Houma/Thibodaux 
diocese.
