Poynter, 87, a native of Kentucky and resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana passed away on July 24, 2016. A visitation will be held in her honor on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Thibodaux Funeral Home, Thibodaux, Louisiana from 8:30 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. The burial will follow in St. Lawrence the Martyr Cemetery, Kraemer, Louisiana. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Curtis Poynter; son, John Poynter, Sr. and wife, Beverly Poynter; two grandsons, John "Johnny" Poynter, Jr. and wife, Lori T. Poynter, Lloyd Dempster and wife, Jeanne Dempster; seven great-grandchildren, Arielle Stermer, Caden Poynter, Juliana Dempster, Gavin Poynter, Shelby Dax Dempster, Landen Poynter, and Rohen Poynter; and a sister, Alice Ray. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Ruth Tribble; father, James Russell Tribble; and brother, James Russell Tribble, Jr. She served as a Pink Lady for several years at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. She also served as the Queen Mother of the Red Hat Society, and belonged to the Eastern Star. Thibodaux Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements. ======================
