Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2016/f1607.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Carol Ann Avet Rogers, 71, a native of Crisfield, Maryland and a resident of Houma passed away on Sunday, July 03, 2016. Visitation will be Thursday, July 7th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church with funeral services beginning at 11:00. Burial will take place at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No 2. Carol is survived by her three sons, Barry Matherne and wife, Faye, Mark Matherne and wife, Cindy and Randy Matherne and wife, Angela. Four grandchildren, Courtney King and husband, LeeLand, Monique Parsons and husband, Nathan, Cody Matherne and Austin Matherne. One step-grandson, Jonthan Leblanc and wife, Sarah. Two great-grandchildren, Caden King and Owen Parsons. Brothers Steve Avet and wife, Loretta, David Avet and companion, Debbie and Sterling Avet and wife, Lisa as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Onezippe "OJ" Avet, Jr. and Jewell Truitt Avet, brother, Onezippe John Avet III, her second husband, Charles Rogers and step-great grandchild, Angel LeBlanc. Carol was a parishioner of St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Metairie. After many years, she returned to college and graduated in 1994. She retired from United Way of New Orleans after 18 years of service. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank Haydel Memorial Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion.
