Dorothy Simmons Ross, 79, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Gray, 
LA, passed away peacefully at 1:42 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016.

Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, 
July 23 at St. Peter Baptist Church located at 669 Hwy 55 in Montegut 

with burial to follow in Southdown Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Allen Ross, Jr., Kenneth Ross, Donald Ross 
(Francine), Terrence Ross, Timothy Ross and Anthony Ross; daughters, Brenda 
Jackson and Faye Steele; eighteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; 
brothers, Benjamin Simmons, Sr. and Daniel Simmons, III (Gertrude); and sister, 
Helena Allen.

She was preceded in death by her husband Allen Ross, Sr.; daughter, Angela 
Watson; parents, Daniel, Sr. and Helena Taylor-Simmons; brothers, Henry, Rodney 
and Albert Simmons; sisters, Diane Simmons, Rosa Dell Frye, Mary and Gloria 
Vanburen.

Arrangements entrusted to Jones Funeral Home of Houma.
