Amanda Douglas Thompson, 49. A native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of 
Bourg, LA died on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Leonard Chabert Medical Center at 
12:24p.m.

A Celebration of life for Amanda Thompson will b held on Friday, July 29, 2016 
at Beacon Light Baptist Church 4325 W. Park Ave. Gray, LA 70359. Visitation 
will be from 9:00a.m. until funeral time at 11:00a.m. 

Interment at Southdown Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, James Thompson, Sr. One daughter, Jaylynn 
Douglas and brothers, Stanley, Mitchell(Gwendolyn) Aldridge, Bobby J. Douglas 
of Houma, LA and Wayne Douglas of Nashville, TN. Sisters, Judy Thomas, Pamela 
Diggs and Donzella Douglas all of Houma, LA.

She was preceded in death by her her parents, Mercedes Douglas and Sidney F. 
Wheaton. One brother, Dennis Valentine.

She was a Baptist and a member of Beacon Light Baptist Church. She enjoyed 
singing and going to church.

Community Funeral Home 230 S. Hollywood Rd., Houma, LA is in charge of 
arrangements.
