February 5, 1920 - August 3, 2016

Ruby Marie Portier Bernard, 96, a native of Houma, LA and longtime resident of 
Thibodaux, LA, entered into eternal rest peacefully at 1:00 pm Wednesday on 
August 3, 2016.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Christ the Redeemer Catholic 
Church on Saturday, August 6, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 
celebrated at 11:00 am at the church 

followed by burial in St. Francis #2 Cemetery in Houma, LA.

She is survived by her sons, James Bernard and wife Betty, Reese Bernard and 
wife Bernice, Donald Bernard and wife Linda, Raymond Bernard, Michael Bernard 
and wife Lois; daughter, Yvonne Bernard Andras; daughter-in-law, Margaret 
Bernard; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Bernard, Sr,; son, Clifford 
Bernard, Jr.; parents, Serville Portier and Lillian Hebert Portier; brothers, 
Alvin, Delvin, and Lawrence Hayes and Junius Portier; sisters, Mae P. Hebert, 
Virginia P. Bergeron.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Lafourche Home and St. Joseph 
Hospice.
