He was a native of Houma, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 9:00am to service time at St. Bridget Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Bridget Catholic Church. Burial: St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery. He is survived by his, Wife, Allie Babineaux Dhuet; Sons, Keith Dhuet and wife Donna, Brent Dhuet and wife Rebecca, Herbert Dhuet Jr. and wife Anna, and Craig Dhuet; Daughter, Christine Dhuet Brunet and husband Michael; Brother, Claude Dhuet; Grandchildren, Bryan Guidry, Christy Guidry David, Dr. Ryan Dhuet, Traci Dhuet Haines, Trisha Dhuet, Denee' Dhuet, Savannah Johnston, Hunter Johnston, Jeremy Brunet, and Jodie Brunet Powell; and Great Grandchildren, Bryana Guidry, Hayden David, Sophie David, Liam Haines, Avrie Brunet, Keller Powell, and Riley Powell. He was preceded in death by his, First wife and mother of his children, Lydia Brunet Dhuet; Parents, Irvin Allen Dhuet and Beulah Robinson Dhuet; Brother, Wilbert Dhuet; and Sister, Ruth LaCour. He was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church in Bayou Blue. Cpl. Herbert Dhuet Sr. was a veteran of the United States Army and Army Reserve. He was a volunteer at the Terrebonne General Medical Center and a volunteer at the Veterans Affairs Clinic. He enjoyed hunting, painting, fishing, playing Pedro, farming with his Uncle Jimmy Vedros in Bayou Blue, and traveling. Herbert was fluent in French and enjoyed entertaining his French guest at his and wife Allie's Bed and Breakfast. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing practical jokes on his family and friends. Herbert was a superintendent for United Gas Pipeline for thirty-four years.
