Mary Mathews died on Friday August 19, 2016 at her residence in Thibodaux, LA. 
She was 79 and a native of St. James, LA. 

Visitation on Friday August 26, 2016 at Williams and Southall Funeral Home, 
Thibodaux, LA from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Visitation on Saturday, at Moses Baptist 
Church, Thibodaux, LA 10:00am to Religious Services at 12 noon conducted by 
Rev. LLoyd Jones, Jr. 

Burial in Moses Baptist Church Cemetery, Thibodaux, LA. 

Survived by 5 daughters, Zenobia Boatner, Linda Duncan (Calvin), Delores 
Johnson, Joyce Coleman, and Lela Arcement; 1 son, Alvin Arcement (Rita); 5 
sisters, Virginia Johnson, Olivia Wilson, Naomi Azema, Octavia Azema, and 
Theresa Johnson; 1 brother, Willie Azema; 17 grandchilren; 30 great-
grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and a host of neices, nephews, other 
relatives and friends. 

Preceded in death by her Husband, Albert Mathews; her parents, Lionel Azema and 
Olevia Johnson Azema; 1 daughter, Ada Clay; 1 son Lionel Azema; 6 sisters and 1 
brother.
