At the age of 80, he was surrounded by family as he made his final journey home to meet our Savior, Jesus Christ at 4:22 a.m. on September 5, 2016. Harris was a resident of League City, Texas, but was a native of Thibodaux, La., where he continued to visit family and friends. Harris attended Nicholls State University in his hometown where he raised his family. He was known for being light on his feet on the dance floor and one of the best dancers in town. He was the banker of his weekly card game with friends at his senior-living complex. His display of generosity was shown throughout his life and he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Sci -Fi and Westerns were his favorite movies. Harris was a New Orleans Saints fan…"Who Dat"!! Crosswords puzzles were no challenge for him, he loved them. Animals were also something that he had great affection for. He loved people and loved to tell stories. Even the most minor event, could be told with so many details that it turned in to a story. More than anything, he loved his family and enjoyed spending as much time as he could with them. He is survived by two daughters, Mary Jo Richard and husband Sid Richard and Dana Laiche and husband David Laiche, one sister, Inez Aysen, three Grandchildren, Macy Richard, Bambi Westerman Wade and Travis Boudreaux, and three Great Grandchildren, Baylee, Brayden and Brody Wade. He is also survived by his dear friends Ed Norwood and Lena Bourg Norwood. He is preceded in death by his mother, Clarisse Clement Bourg and his father, Alcide Bourg. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Mariposa Apartments, 1101 FM 517 West, Dickinson Texas at 11:00 a.m. on September 21, 2016.
