Virginia Cortez Duet, 73, was born on August 5, 1943 and passed away peacefully 
on September 7, 2016. She was a native of Marrero, LA and resident of 
Schriever, LA.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Thibodaux Funeral 
Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will resume on Monday, 
September 12, 2016 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Schriever from 9:00 AM 
until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM 

with burial to follow in St. Bridget Catholic Church cemetery in Schriever.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, David Duet, Sr.; daughter, 
Cindy Rome and husband David and son, David Duet, Jr. and wife Kim; 
grandchildren, Courtney Boquet and Brett Rome; great grandchildren, Brady and 
Gavin Boquet; brothers, Charlie and Allen Cortez, and sister, Debby McGee.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alcide and Irena Cortez.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Audubon 
Health and Rehab and St. Catherine's Hospice.

Thibodaux Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with handling the funeral 
arrangements.
