Sharon Kay Lirette (nee Wooster) of Houma, Louisiana was born on April 18th, 
1955 in Warsaw, Missouri and passed away after a brief, but courageous, battle 
with cancer, on September 24th, 2016, at the age of 61, surrounded by her 
family and loved ones.

Sharon was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and 
friend who dedicated her life to caring for all of her family. While her 
greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren, she also enjoyed the 
small things, like sitting by the water, fishing with her daughter. 
She was so kind and generous to everyone she met and she will be greatly missed 
by all who knew her and had the pleasure of being loved by her.

She was preceded in death by: her grandparents, William and Oma Wooster; a 
brother-in-law, Tom Parsons; and her beloved husband, Curt Lirette.

Sharon is survived by: her parents, Bill and Dorothy (Wooster) Richison of 
Jena, LA; her children: Russell Thomas of Rolla, MO; Christina (Enke) Dupre and 
husband Nick of Houma, LA; and Derrick Lirette of Houma, LA. She survived by 5 
grandchildren: Chelsea Thomas (St. James, MO), Caleb Landry, Crystle Landry, 
Gage Dupre, and Carsyn Landry (all of Houma, LA). She is also survived by her 
siblings: Brenda Parsons of St. James, MO; Chiquita Thompson and husband 
Charlie of Jena, LA; Kenneth Johnson and wife Debi of Clinton, MO; Billy (Troy) 
Richison and wife Linda of Lafayette, LA; and Theresa Johnson of Rolla, MO, as 
well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at Smart Funeral Home in Houma, LA on 
Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 9am - 1pm. A memorial will also be conducted 
in Missouri at a later date.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, a donation in Mrs. Lirette’s name be 
made to the American Cancer Society or to your local Hospice.
