She was a native of Napoleonville, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:30 PM and on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at St Francis de Sales Cathedral from 9:30AM to service time at St. Francis de Sales. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday following visitation at the Cathedral at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in St. Francis Cemetery #2. Gertie is survived by her children, Danny Foster and wife Annette, Dianne Foster Blanchard and husband Al, and Billy Foster and wife Annette; grandchildren, Dehron Foster, Deitra Foster, Aimee Foster Porche, Alyce Foster, and Ryan Burtchaell; step-grandchildren, Ginger LeBlanc, Dawn Mayet, Christina Prevost; Great grandchildren, Ryan Mayet, Morgan Domangue, Foster Porche, Blake Prevost, Roman Porche, and Reese LeBlanc. She was preceded in death by her husband William Foster Sr.; parents, Henry and Clementine Rodrigue Boudreaux; brothers, Oneil, Herbert, Dalton, Harry, and Henry Boudreaux; and sisters, Hilda Holle, Therese Whatley, Shirley Lainhart, and Jeanne Andre’; She was the Matriarch of her family and last survivor of her generation of the Boudreaux family. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She touched many lives in the community. Gertie loved spending time and being surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling with family and making them laugh. One of her passions was reading; and she was proud to be the oldest member of the “Family and Friends Book Club.” She had a contagious love of life, and she freely shared that love with everyone. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her name. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Foster family. ======================
