Donald “Big Boy” Joseph Giroir, 77, passed away peacefully at home surrounded 
by his loving family on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 9:56 AM. 
He was a native and resident of Big Bayou Black, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 8:00AM until funeral 
time at St. Anthony Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 
AM. 

Burial will be held in St. Anthony Cemetery.

He is survived by his son, Timothy J. Giroir and wife, Angela; daughters, 
Janine G. Deroche, Janifer G. Domangue and husband, David, and Cindy G. Olivier 
and husband, Dale; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Helen Bergeron Giroir; 
parents, Elward and Beatrice Olivier Giroir; brother, Elward Giroir, Jr..

He was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He retired in 1995 from 
Transco Gas Pipeline. Don enjoyed gardening, fishing, and playing cards. 
However, his favorite times were those spent at his camp with family and 
friends. We would like to thank the staffs of TGMC and AMG hospitals for the 
care of our father and especially like to thank Dr. Russell Henry.
